This personalized garage man cave sign turns a blank wall into headquarters for the gearhead in the family. You choose the garage or shop name, the established year, and the bottom line, whether that is an engine code, a vehicle, or your own wording, and we print it on your choice of standoff-mounted acrylic or weatherproof 6mm DIBOND metal. Can this sign be backlit or lit up? Yes, and you get to pick the material. At Tailor Made Rooms we print both the acrylic and the metal so you can backlight either one yourself. The 1 inch silver standoffs hold the sign off the wall, which leaves room to tuck your own LED strip or puck lights behind it for a glow. We do not provide, wire, or ship any lights, and backlighting adds no extra charge, you simply supply your own light source.
What are the two materials, and which one belongs in a working garage? Acrylic is a smooth indoor panel on metal standoffs, great for a man cave, office, or finished garage. Metal is 6mm DIBOND aluminum composite, weatherproof and built for a working garage, shop, or covered outdoor space because salty sea air is not a problem. The DIBOND substrate holds up 10 to 15 years and the UV printed graphics stay sharp 5 to 10 years.
Is the lettering raised or is it real metal? The letters look like painted metal, but our design is a flat printed image, not embossed, not engraved, not raised, and not wood. That keeps the artwork crisp and the price fair while it still reads like a shop-built sign.
